For our virtual business assignment we needed first of all to share tasks between group members Ilkay Kiral, Mustafa Onurhan Atak and me, Mustafa Berk. Our first step was to find Second life companies and try to communicate with someone from them, secondly we needed to write a report and finally prepare a presentation.
We started our assignment by writing and sending postcards. Postcards provided information about ourselves, and why we wanted to contact them. Our group member Ilkay received the first answer from Essencia Hotel. The next step was to have an interview with hotel receptionist Anne Smith. I also gave some questions that I was curious about and Ilkay completed the interview. After the interview we had an opportunity to visit the hotel and the trip was quite impressive. The hotel had almost no differences from other hotels. Building's structure, interior, personnel; everything was designed so well that I immediately adapted to the location and felt like really being there. According to information we got, the hotel was used for for holidays and events. After the interview, we shared the tasks to prepare our report and presentation for the assignment. First of all we needed to prepare the report, for that I needed to make a business model of the hotel. Next step was to prepare the presentation. I prepared the presentation with the information I gained from the report, my own research results and pictures.
The assignment seemed very difficult at the beginning. However, we got a quick response from a hotel and all group members worked as we planned. Accordingly we completed the assignment without problems. Finally, thanks to the assignment I had an interesting and beneficial experience.
